A Visionary Project
Danish architecture studio Cobe has partnered with Adidas to bring to life the Adidas Halftime Building, a dynamic multipurpose structure situated within the headquarters of Adidas in Herzogenaurach, Germany. This ambitious project aims to redefine the traditional office space and create an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Fostering Collaboration and Creativity
Spanning an impressive 15,500 square meters, the Adidas Halftime Building is designed to cultivate a vibrant and dynamic work environment. With its informal and creative meeting spaces, the building encourages organic networking opportunities among visitors, brand ambassadors, and staff. These spaces serve as hubs for brainstorming sessions, collaborative projects, and impromptu discussions, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among occupants.
A Tribute to Sports and Innovation
At the heart of the Halftime Building are 12 workshop rooms, each representing different sports venues, paying homage to Adidas’s rich athletic heritage. These rooms provide dedicated spaces for teams to collaborate and ideate, drawing inspiration from the world of sports. Additionally, the building features a massive event hall capable of accommodating up to 1,500 people, doubling as a gym equipped with old-school wall bars, further emphasizing the intersection of sports and innovation.
Architectural Marvel: The Rhomboid Roof Structure
One of the most striking features of the Halftime Building is its rhomboid roof structure, spanning an area of 8,650 square meters. Covered in glass and supported by V-shaped concrete beams, the roof is as visually impressive as it is structurally sound. Each concrete beam weighs 28 tons and measures 16 meters in length, totaling a staggering 3.2 kilometers in length. Furthermore, skylights embedded within the roof illuminate the interior with natural light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere throughout the structure.
Conclusion: A Beacon of Innovation
The Adidas Halftime Building stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of Cobe and Adidas, showcasing the intersection of architecture, sports, and innovation. With its innovative design, vibrant workspaces, and dedication to fostering creativity and collaboration, the Halftime Building redefines the traditional office environment and sets a new standard for workplace design in the 21st century.
